I am so excited about this journey we are about to embark on together, and I hope you share my same excitement!
I have never even came close to reading the Bible cover to cover. When I saw this program it grabbed my interest, but I knew accountability would be needed to stay on course. If you aren't familiar with the program you can check it out at biblein90days.org. There are workbooks, videos, and a special Bible available if you are interested. For our purposes, you can use your own Bible and we will use this blog as the means of discussion and accountability.
All you have to do is divide the pages in your Bible by 90. This shows you how many pages a day you need to read. Average reading time is one hour. You may want to break this up into two 30 minute sessions or read in one setting. This may seem like a lot of time to read, but I guarantee you can find at least six 10-minute sessions of wasted time each day. Think of time spent waiting in the car or an office. Think of how much time is wasted on the Internet. Think of how desperate we are to watch our favorite t.v. show. Think of the impact made on your life when you trade something of the world for the Word.
It may be that you want to fast from something that takes up your time every day. Maybe it is that extra hour of sleep, watching Dr. Phil and Oprah every afternoon, or Facebook. It doesn't matter what it is, just as long as you make the time to have a daily date with your Maker. If you do choose to fast from something, share it! That's how accountability works!
I will post a schedule in the next few days. Because everyone has different Bibles we may be a little off, but this will give us an idea of what texts will be discussed.
It is my prayer that God will show us so many amazing things that our minds cannot handle it, that our relationship with him will be transformed because we will know who is really is, and that will will have an unquenchable thirst for his Word that will never fade away. I love each and every one of you, and I cannot wait to dive in with you by my side!
